📍 Destination Overview
Taiping, a small town in northern Perak, Malaysia, is nicknamed the 'Rain Town' for about 4,000 millimetres of rain a year. After tin was found nearby in 1848 it became a mining hub that created Malaya's first railway and first public park, Taiping Lake Gardens. It also hosts the Perak Museum and Malaysia's oldest zoo - an underrated, laid-back town near Ipoh.
