📍 Destination Overview
Kinderdijk lies in South Holland at the meeting of the Lek and Noord rivers, famous for nineteen eighteenth-century windmills built in the 1740s in a single row along the canal to drain the low polder. Embodying Dutch water management, it became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997. Visitors boat or stroll the canals, with one mill open inside, only half an hour from Rotterdam.
