Semuc Champe (meaning underwater hiding place in Mayan) is located deep in the dense jungle of the Alta Verapaz region in central Guatemala. It is an amazing natural wonder. It is famous for its series of natural limestone pools with a dreamy emerald green color and the underground river rushing under the pool. It is secretive and green and beautiful. It is one of the most unique and photogenic natural secrets (it is located in a remote jungle and the bumpy road makes it even more mysterious). The dry season is better from November to April. The magic comes from the rare and exquisite geological structure - the rushing Cahabang River penetrates under a natural limestone bridge about 300 meters long and flows underground. The top of the stone bridge is naturally formed by travertine deposits to form a series of terraced pools connected end to end. Filled with clear mountain spring water, the minerals and light give it a dreamy color of emerald, turquoise, blue and green. The layers of falling water cover the rainforest, like an emerald necklace. You can take a dip in the warm clear pool and climb to the observation deck El Mirador to overlook the panoramic view of the emerald pool inlaid with green rainforest. You can also explore caves and rafting. GTQ Approximately equivalent. Prices are for reference only.
