Vancouver's oldest surviving building, constructed in 1865 as the company store for Captain Edward Stamp's Hastings Sawmill and the heart of the early community. It is one of the few buildings to survive the 1886 Great Fire of Vancouver. Later saved and barged to its present site at the foot of Alma Street on Point Grey by the Native Daughters of BC, it has operated as a museum since 1931.
