Introduction
Our Lady of Victory Church in Inuvik, known as the 'Igloo Church', is an igloo-shaped Roman Catholic church built from 1958 to 1960 and designed by a local missionary, with timber transported over great distances. Its distinctive dome and colourful stained glass and Arctic-inspired religious art make it Inuvik's most iconic building and a cultural symbol of Canada's largest community north of the Arctic Circle.
