Ha Ling Peak
Introduction
Ha Ling Peak is an iconic mountain near Canmore, Alberta, Canada, with an elevation of about 2,408 m, named after the Chinese cook Ha Ling who summited it in 1896. Its main hiking trail starts at the Goat Creek Day Use Area. After trail upgrades completed in 2019 added standard switchbacks, the route covers about 3 km with 730 m of elevation gain, making it one of the most efficient "steep and short" hikes in the Rocky Mountains. The summit offers 360-degree views over the Bow Valley and the Three Sisters peaks, making it Canmore's most representative mountaineering challenge.
