The clock face is 40 feet (approximately 12 meters) in diameter and is planted with up to 16,000 carpet bedding plants and annuals, including alternanthera, sweet alyssum, and privet. The intricate floral patterns are designed and planted by the Niagara Parks horticulture team and changed twice a year; the mechanical works inside the clock are maintained by Ontario Power Generation. The tower behind the clock houses Westminster chimes that ring every quarter hour.
