Introduction
The UBC Rose Garden sits at the western edge of the University of British Columbia campus in Vancouver and is a free, open landscape garden. Built on a slope facing the bay, it offers sweeping views over the Pacific, Burrard Inlet and the North Shore Mountains, and is regarded as one of the best viewpoints on campus. From June to September more than a dozen varieties of roses come into bloom, filling the garden with colour and scent, and it is a favourite spot for students and visitors to take photos, picnic and stroll. The paths are gentle and lined with benches, ideal for sitting at dusk as the sun sinks into the sea. As part of the university, it stays open year-round with no admission fee, so you can wander at your own pace and combine it with the campus museums and Wreck Beach.
