Introduction
The Nitobe Memorial Garden, on the UBC campus in Vancouver, is a tea-garden-style (stroll) Japanese garden created in memory of Japanese scholar Nitobe Inazo and open to the public since 1960. Following traditional Japanese landscape design, it combines a tea house, stone lanterns, ponds and seasonal plants, and is hailed as one of the most authentic Japanese gardens outside Japan; the cherry blossoms in spring and the maples in autumn are especially beautiful.
