Introduction
Lorenzi Park is a historic urban park near downtown Las Vegas, built in 1926, providing residents a rare green retreat in the desert city. Covering about 15 acres, the park features a rose garden, children's playground, basketball and tennis courts and picnic areas, offering one of the few shaded outdoor spaces in Las Vegas. An artificial lake and fountains add water features to the desert setting, and surrounding trails are popular for morning runs and walks. Adjacent to the Las Vegas Medical Center, the park historically served as a gathering place for casino workers and families, and remains a peaceful spot to experience local life away from the Strip.
