Introduction
Buffalo City Hall is a 32-story Art Deco landmark completed in 1931, its stylized Native American motifs, terrazzo murals and stepped tower anchoring Niagara Square. Rising 115 metres, it was among the tallest city halls of its era. A free observation deck on the 28th floor rings the city with views toward Lake Erie and Niagara Falls. Still the working seat of municipal government, it is also a beloved example of Buffalo's early-20th-century architectural ambition, open to the public on weekdays.
