Introduction
Diamond Head is Honolulu's most iconic natural landmark, a tuff cone formed about one million years ago and named for the fin of the ahi tuna its profile resembles (Hawaiian lae ahi). The 232-meter summit trail is one of Hawaii's most popular short hikes, about 1.6 km one way along a paved path through tunnels and steep stairs to the summit.
