Kelley Park
Introduction
Kelley Park is a comprehensive city park in central San Jose. Spanning about 156 acres, it houses multiple cultural attractions — History Park, Japanese American Museum and Children's Discovery Museum — making it a family-friendly destination combining nature, leisure and education. Located south of downtown San Jose, it is one of the city's largest parks with tree-lined paths, open lawns, picnic areas and playgrounds. The park's biggest draw is History Park (History San Jose), an outdoor historical village with dozens of 19th- and early-20th-century buildings relocated from across the Santa Clara Valley — old schoolhouses, churches, pharmacies, blacksmith shops, printing houses and homes — a walk through time to old Silicon Valley. The Japanese Friendship Garden is a serene, beautiful Japanese garden. The Children's Discovery Museum near the park entrance is one of San Jose's most popular family museums. Visiting Kelley Park to stroll the historic buildings and Japanese garden is a relaxed, culturally rich family experience in San Jose.
