ICON Orlando™
Introduction
ICON Orlando, on International Drive in Orlando, Florida, is a giant observation wheel about 122 meters tall, the tallest in Florida and one of Orlando most prominent landmarks beyond its theme parks. Opened in 2015 with 30 enclosed air-conditioned capsules holding up to 15 each, a full rotation takes about 18 minutes, offering 360-degree views of the Orlando skyline. On clear days, the top reveals the silhouettes of Disney and Universal theme parks, downtown Orlando skyscrapers, and even Florida wetlands and lakes tens of kilometers away. At night, the wheel LED light show mingles with I-Drive neon, a romantic backdrop for Orlando nightlife. The Icon Park complex beneath also hosts Madame Tussauds, SEA LIFE Aquarium, and a 7D theater for a combined visit. Capsules have interactive tablets identifying landmarks in each direction, turning viewing into learning. Whether for families or couples, ICON Orlando is the best way to take in the theme-park capital panorama.
