Introduction
The Small Wild Goose Pagoda (Jianfu Temple Pagoda), in Beilin, Xi'an, Shaanxi, China, was built in 707–710 during the Tang to house sutras brought from India by the monk Yijing — a masterpiece of Tang dense-eave brick pagodas, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2014 as part of the Silk Roads. About 43 m with fifteen graceful eaves, it has withstood millennia of earthquakes; its 'pagoda morning bell' is one of the 'Eight Views of Guanzhong.' The Jianfu Temple's ancient trees and the adjacent Xi'an Museum make it a quiet place in the city to read Tang Buddhist grace and Silk Road spirit.
