Bibury

Introduction

Bibury is a small village in the Cotswolds region of England, known for its well-preserved traditional stone cottages and peaceful pastoral scenery. Its most famous sight is Arlington Row, a row of honey-coloured seventeenth-century stone cottages built along a slope and mirrored in the shallow River Coln, one of the most photographed scenes in the English countryside. The village also has an old church and a mill, and waterfowl often gather by the river. The designer William Morris is said to have called it the most beautiful village in England. The village itself is free to visit and small, taking about one to two hours to walk through; driving is easiest, and it pairs well with other Cotswold villages.
