Introduction
The Pink Lake lies on the coast at the northern tip of the Yucatán Peninsula, a dreamy pink lake formed by salt flats. Rich in salt, microbes and brine shrimp, it shows rose-pink shades under sunlight—one of Mexico's most photogenic natural wonders. It is also an important ecological wetland reserve, often home to flamingos. As a working salt flat, it is viewed with a guide along designated areas—no swimming or damage, to protect this fragile, unique ecosystem.
