Kings Canyon is the most spectacular canyon in Watarrka National Park, NT. About 100 m deep red sandstone canyon with the Kings Canyon Rim Walk, Lost City and Garden of Eden — one of the Red Centre's most popular hiking destinations. Rim Walk (~6 km loop) — climbs ~500 steps ("Heartbreak Hill") then follows the canyon rim. Lost City — wind-eroded honeycomb sandstone. Garden of Eden — palm grove around a natural pool. Early morning departure is best. Visiting for the most spectacular canyon hike in Australia's Red Centre is an exhilarating experience.
