Introduction

The Sydney Harbour Bridge, completed in 1932, is a steel arch bridge spanning Port Jackson and linking Sydney's north and south shores, nicknamed the Coathanger. With the Opera House it forms the classic Sydney Harbour skyline. This grand single-arch bridge carries trains, cars, bicycles and pedestrians. Visitors can walk across for free on the pedestrian path with harbour and Opera House views, or join the famous BridgeClimb, led by guides up to the about 134-metre arch top for a 360-degree view of Sydney. The bridge pylon lookout also offers panoramic views.
