Introduction

Yanchep National Park sits about 56 km north of Perth on Indian Ocean Drive, a park combining limestone caves, coastal dunes and wetlands. It is renowned for its koala population, with a tree-top boardwalk offering views over these marsupials, and grey kangaroos are commonly seen. In the headland cave area, the Crystal Cave is famed for its gleaming stalactites and stalagmites and is entered on a guided tour. The park also holds a network of large limestone caves, wetlands and seasonal wildflower trails, at their most colourful in the Australian spring (September–November).
