Perth Wellington Square
Introduction
Wellington Square (now also known as Moort-ak Waadiny) is a city park on Wellington Street in East Perth. The site was originally a swamp that was drained and named in honour of the Duke of Wellington. Around 2021 the City of Perth invested about AUD17.5 million in a major upgrade, and the standout feature is the roughly 3,000-square-metre Koolangka Koolangka Waabiny playground — one of the largest in the Greater Perth area — with nature play, a skate park, parkour, a flying fox, embankment slides, a pump track and water play.
