Introduction
The Sydney Entertainment Centre (later Qantas Credit Union Arena) was a multi-purpose arena in Haymarket, Sydney, opened in 1983 and able to host about 2,500-13,250 people. Averaging around one million visitors a year, it staged concerts by international superstars, family shows, sports and corporate events, and was Sydney's largest permanent concert venue until the Sydney SuperDome opened in 1999. The building was demolished in January 2016 and its site has been incorporated into new urban development.
