Avenue of the Baobabs
The Avenue of the Baobabs lies on National Route 8 about 17 km north of the west-coast city of Morondava in western Madagascar. It is a stretch of public dirt road lined with dozens of giant baobab trees (Adansonia za) up to about 30 metres tall, celebrated as one of the world's most spectacular baobab landscapes. Especially at sunset, the silhouettes of the trees against the evening sky attract photographers and travellers in droves.
