📍 Destination Overview
Coba is a Mayan archaeological site on Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, hidden in the jungle. The Nohoch Mul pyramid at 42 m is the tallest in the Yucatan and can still be climbed for jungle views. Coba was connected to other Mayan cities by white stone roads (sacbe). The site has stelae, ball courts and ceremonial buildings. Nearby cenotes offer swimming in crystal-clear jungle sinkholes. Coba is between Tulum and Chichen Itza — more pristine and less crowded than Chichen Itza.
