Parc des Rapides
Introduction
Parc des Rapides is located in the LaSalle district at the southwest tip of Montreal Island on the St. Lawrence River, facing the Lachine Rapids. The park features lookouts and interpretive panels explaining the formation of the rapids and the history of the old hydro power station, and is an important migratory bird habitat and raptor (eagles, falcons) observation point, much loved by birdwatchers and cyclists.
