Introduction
Roundhouse Park, at the southern end of downtown Toronto, is built around the historic John Street Roundhouse. Built in 1929, this round steam locomotive roundhouse is one of the largest surviving roundhouses in Canada. The park displays retired steam locomotives and railway heritage artifacts and hosts the Toronto Railway Museum, where visitors can climb aboard restored carriages and watch a working turntable. The park is free to enter, and in spring-early summer there is a seasonal miniature train ride (usually running from mid-May to Labour Day). It sits beside the Steam Whistle Brewery and downtown Toronto.
