Introduction
The Museo Casa de León Trotsky in Coyoacán was the Russian revolutionary's last home in exile. Granted asylum by the Mexican government, Trotsky arrived in 1937 and was fatally attacked with an ice axe in his study in August 1940. The raised walls, watchtower and gun slits remain; the desk in the study is kept as it was on the day of the assassination, calendar and papers included, and the garden holds the tomb of Trotsky and his wife Natalia.
