The Museo de la Caricatura occupies an 18th-century baroque mansion in Mexico City's historic centre, once attached to the colonial Colegio de San Ildefonso. Its collection traces Mexican political cartooning and satirical illustration — from 19th-century lithographic journals, through José Guadalupe Posada's calavera prints, to original drawings by contemporary newspaper cartoonists. Galleries run around the courtyard, and the arcades and carved stone doorway are worth attention in their own right.
