Introduction
The Sera Monastery is located at the southern foot of the Sera Uzi Mountain in Chengguan District, Lhasa City, Tibet Autonomous Region. It is one of the six major monasteries of the Gelug sect of Tibetan Buddhism. It was founded in the early 15th century by Zongqaba's disciple "Dazhi Fa Wang", Qian Qiejie.In 1982, Sera Monastery was announced by the State Council of the People's Republic of China as one of the second batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
