Rinku Park is a seaside green space directly across the water from Kansai International Airport, close enough to watch aircraft on the runway, and the easiest sunset spot on Osaka Bay's western shore. Its signature is Marble Beach, a 2.8-kilometre shoreline paved with white marble chips whose stark contrast with sea and sky makes it a favourite for photographers and wedding shoots. Summer brings fireworks and events; on ordinary days it is a park for joggers, dog walkers and plane spotters. It is free, open 24 hours year-round and seven minutes from Rinku Town Station, so an hour or two before or after a flight works well. One distinction matters: the 85-metre Rinku no Hoshi ferris wheel often photographed with the park is not inside it. That wheel belongs to the Rinku Pleasure Town Seacle complex across the road at 3 Rinkuoraiminami, open 10:00-21:00 with its own ticket, as do the neighbouring Rinku Premium Outlets and the KIX Sky View observation hall. Combining all three makes the most complete visit to this waterfront district.
