Introduction
The Floating Island (떠있는섬) is an artificial cultural complex on the Han River in Seoul, Korea, beside the Banpo Bridge, made of three petal-shaped buildings that appear to float on the water and glow with shifting light after dark like a futuristic island moored mid-river. It joins a performance hall, exhibition spaces, restaurants and open decks, and is a flagship of Seoul's 'Han River Renaissance' — giving citizens an oasis of culture and leisure on the water at the city's heart. From the Han River Park promenade you can view the island with Banpo Bridge's Moonlight Rainbow Fountain; after dusk the lights rise and the river breeze meets the skyline, making it a top Seoul night-view and date spot.
