Introduction
Landbrotalaug is a small natural geothermal pool in West Iceland, on the eastern edge of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula in the Dalabyggð area, well off the main tourist route. The pool is tiny, holding only one or two bathers at a time, with a muddy bottom and fairly hot water. It sits among open lava and grass with no facilities, a free natural hot spring. The tracks leading to it are mostly gravel or dirt and change with the seasons, so winter access calls for particular care. Water temperature, road conditions and suitability for bathing are subject to conditions on the day.
