戈尔内格拉特

Introduction
The Gornergrat is Zermatt's classic viewpoint, about 3,089 m high. From Zermatt, the Gornergrat rack railway—Switzerland's first fully electrified rack railway, built in 1898—climbs in about 33 minutes; the open-air train crosses forest and streams, spiraling up, with the Matterhorn's majestic form always beside you. At the summit, a matchless high-mountain panorama unfolds: facing the pyramid Matterhorn, around are over twenty 4,000 m-plus snow peaks including Switzerland's highest, the Monte Rosa, and below the vast Gorner Glacier ice sea—grand and stunning. The viewpoint has a hotel, restaurant and observatory. A classic rack ride to overlook the Matterhorn and glacier peaks makes the Gornergrat Zermatt's not-to-miss top high-mountain experience.
