Mamu Tropical Skywalk
Introduction
The Mamu Tropical Skywalk lies in Wooroonooran National Park, about 15 minutes south-west of Innisfail in far north Queensland, entered via the Palmerston Highway. The skywalk consists of elevated steel walkways and a cantilevered viewing platform that take you through the rainforest canopy, with sweeping views over waterfalls and rolling hills. Tickets are valid for two full years of unlimited return visits, and the operator provides a free app so you can download the audio tour before you arrive (mobile reception in the rainforest is patchy). It is an outstanding vantage point for learning about wet tropical rainforest ecology and the land's First Nations history.
