Naama Bay is the buzzing heart of Sharm el-Sheikh on the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula, a crescent of pale sand lined with palms and a seafront promenade. By day, gentle shallows invite easy snorkelling among coral patches right off the beach; by night, the waterfront fills with seafood restaurants, shisha lounges, and souvenir stalls lit up for strollers. Sunsets here are a daily ritual best watched from a café with a cold mango juice. Book a day-boat to Ras Mohammed National Park for the region's finest diving.

Al Sahaba Mosque crowns the central square of Sharm el-Sheikh's Old Market, completed in 2017 to a design by Egyptian architect Fouad Tawfik Hafez that blends Mamluk and Ottoman styles. Twin minarets rise 76 metres, and the entrance portal is banded in alternating red, black, and pale stone in the classic ablaq technique. It replaced an older prayer hall and is now the resort's principal mosque. Non-Muslims can enter free outside prayer times; women must cover their heads and arms. It is most photogenic at dusk, when floodlights wash the facade gold—pair it with an evening wander through the market.
