Munich Travel Guide

Bavaria's capital, with Marienplatz's Glockenspiel and the splendour of Nymphenburg, a prosperous South German city of tradition.

📍 Destination Overview

Munich is the capital of Bavaria and the wealthiest city in southern Germany. Marienplatz's New Town Hall performs the daily Glockenspiel chime, Nymphenburg Palace and the Residenz exude royal grandeur, and the English Garden is one of Europe's largest urban parks. From late September to early October, the Oktoberfest at Theresienwiese unleashes the world's greatest beer celebration. The city is also the gateway to Neuschwanstein Castle and the Alps, with lively beer halls, lederhosen and blue-and-white checkered patterns creating a rich Bavarian atmosphere.
