Introduction

St. Lukas is the Evangelical Lutheran church on the Isar embankment, built between 1893 and 1896 and one of the few central Munich churches to survive the Second World War almost unscathed. Its brick-red neo-Romanesque tower anchors Lukasplatz, just across the river from the Deutsches Museum.
