Rhodes is the largest island in Greece's southeast Aegean and home of the Colossus of Rhodes, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, earning it the name Island of the Sun. The Old Town of Rhodes is among Europe's best-preserved medieval cities; the palace and cobbled Knights' Street left by the Knights of St. John are a World Heritage Site. In the south, the Acropolis of Lindos stands on a cliff overlooking azure bays.
