Diani Beach on Kenya's south coast, about 30 km south of Mombasa, is a roughly 25-kilometre stretch of white coral sand fringed by indigenous coastal forest and facing the warm, calm Indian Ocean. The offshore reef makes swimming and snorkelling easy, while trade winds from about June to September and December to February put it among East Africa's best kitesurfing spots. It is also the launch point for day trips to the Kisite-Mpunguti Marine Park to see dolphins, and home to several dive centres - a top beach and watersports destination.
