The Okinawa City Hall Observation Deck is a free, little-known viewpoint hidden on top of the city's main office building, one of the higher points in central Okinawa City (Koza). It is not a tourist attraction but a working office tower: tell the 1F information desk you would like to go up and a guard will escort you by lift, followed by a short spiral stair. The 360-degree view looks east to the Pacific and west to the East China Sea, over Okinawa City's streets and the green belt toward Kadena; on very clear days Iejima is visible to the north. Few people know about it, so you often have the whole deck to yourself — a quiet hidden spot for sea views and sunsets.
