Introduction
Yakifu Yamaguchi Shrine in Oyagyo-cho, Nara, is a grand shrine listed in the Engishiki jinmyocho and one of the fourteen Yamaguchi shrines of Yamato, ranked in 850 CE. Once known as the Yabu-Yamaguchi deity, it was long prayed to for rain; its sessha Tachiwachi Jinja hall, moved from the Kasuga rebuild, is an Important Cultural Property. Locals call it Konomiya, the tutelary shrine of Oyagyo.
