Introduction
Goðafoss, the 'Waterfall of the Gods', is about 30 metres wide and 12 metres high — one of Iceland's most beautiful falls. Legend says that around the year 1000, the lawspeaker Þorgeir threw his pagan idols into the cascade when Iceland adopted Christianity, giving it the name.
