Introduction

Polaria Aquarium, located in the center of Tromso, Norway, is one of the northernmost aquariums in Norway. Themed around the Arctic marine ecosystem, the building's exterior resembles a set of ice blocks pushed ashore, with striking polar design. The facility focuses on displaying marine life from the Barents Sea and Arctic Ocean, including seals, Arctic cod, crabs, deep-sea fish, and polar plankton. The most popular exhibits are the outdoor pools for bearded seals and ringed seals. The aquarium also features a panoramic Arctic theater screening films on polar exploration and marine ecology. It is a key science education center for understanding Arctic marine ecosystems and polar environments, offering visitors a unique window into the cold waters of the far north.
