Introduction
Mack was founded in Tromsø in 1872 by Ludwig Mack and long held the title of the world's northernmost brewery. Though the main production line moved south in 2012, the harbourside Ølhallen taproom remains the town's beer parlour, with small-scale brewing revived on site. Fishermen and tourists share the wood-panelled booths while dozens of taps pour Norwegian craft brews. A tasting tray is the fastest way to drink your way into Tromsø.
