Introduction
Jar groups on two wooded knolls. Fewer jars than Site 1, but far better atmosphere and very few visitors — the best place to feel the plain as it was found. Access is by dirt road that turns muddy and is sometimes closed in the rainy season. Combine it with Sites 1 and 3 on a single hired-car day.
✨ Highlights
1
Jars on two knolls
Two adjacent knolls, each a short climb, with wider views than Site 1.
2
Raw woodland setting
No formal boardwalk — it feels much closer to how the site was found.
3
Very few visitors
Most groups only do Site 1; you often have the whole field to yourself.
4
Jars wrapped by roots
Some jars are held by tree roots — the most photogenic of the three sites.
5
Dirt road and farmland
The access track runs through rice fields and bamboo, a highland scene in itself.
6
Easy stop between 1 and 3
Centrally placed, it works naturally as the middle stop of the day.

• Go in the dry season (Nov-Mar); in the rains it is often a wasted trip.
• Confirm road conditions with your driver — avoid within a week of heavy rain.
• No visitor centre or toilets here; sort that out in town first.
• The root-wrapped jars are the shot to get — bring a wide lens.
• Hire one car for all three sites and cover them in a single day.
• Do not touch or climb the jars; this is a protected World Heritage site.
