Aalborg Tower
Rising from Skovbakken hill on the southern edge of Aalborg, this 54.9-metre steel lattice tower was built in 1933 for the North Jutland Exhibition. Its open-air elevator is the highest of its kind in Northern Europe, carrying visitors to a 360-degree viewing platform where the Limfjord, the old rooftops and KUNSTEN's sculptural form unfold below. A bistro at the top makes sunset visits especially rewarding.

KUNSTEN Museum of Modern Art Aalborg
Designed by Alvar Aalto and opened in 1972, KUNSTEN Museum of Modern Art Aalborg sits on a hill a short walk from the Aalborg Tower. The collection focuses on Danish and international art from 1900 onwards, complemented by a sculpture park, a brasserie and a bookshop. The building itself, with its white tiles, curved galleries and skylit halls, is a highlight, and the museum's programme of temporary shows keeps it one of the most dynamic galleries in Northern Jutland.
