📍 Destination Overview
Olympia in the western Peloponnese is the birthplace of the ancient Olympic Games and a sacred Greek site. Games began here in 776 BC, running every four years for a millennium. The Temple of Zeus housed a Seven Wonders statue; the flame lit at the Temple of Hera still travels the world. The stadium and the Archaeological Museum's masterpieces made this a UNESCO site.
