Sanctuary to Apollo
The Sanctuary of Apollo is the core of Delphi's holy site; the ancient Greeks believed this the 'navel of the world', where the priestess Pythia uttered oracles shaping city-states and kings. Surviving Doric columns and foundations spread up the slope with the theatre and treasuries over the Phaedriades gorge. Walking the stone path, you still feel the solemnity of a millennial spiritual centre and the vastness of sky and land — the very heart of the Delphi pilgrimage.

Delphi Museum

Mount Parnassus
Mount Parnassus is a limestone massif rising in central Greece between the Gulf of Corinth and Thessaly, reaching 2,457 metres. In Greek myth it was the sacred mountain of Apollo and the Muses and the backdrop to the Delphic oracle. Pine forests and alpine meadows cloak its slopes; in winter it becomes a ski resort, while summer draws hikers and stargazers. Mist often shrouds its peaks, lending the mountain a solemn, otherworldly air.
