📍 Destination Overview
Nafplio, on the Argolic Bay of the northeastern Peloponnese, was Greece's first capital, from 1821 to 1834. The old town is embraced by three castles: Venetian Palamidi atop its hill, Bourtzi on an island, and the ancient Akronafplia. Cobbled lanes and stone mansions preserve Venetian and Ottoman character, making it one of Greece's most romantic towns.
