📍 Destination Overview
Tatev is a ninth-century monastery high above the deep gorge of the Vorotan River in southern Armenia, on a cliff-hemmed ledge. Once a major religious and scholarly centre, it housed the renowned university of Tatev. It is reached by the Wings of Tatev cable car spanning the gorge, 5.7 km each way and once the world's longest passenger ropeway.
